With the current anticipation and excitement surrounding this here release, nothing more needs to be said. But we’re going to say it anyway. Freddie has ascended to this milestone because you, the fan have given him enough support with his artistic craft and not forced him to compromise his core values when it comes to displaying his talents on the microphone. With said freedom, you’ll probably come to realize that Str8 Killa No Filla is Gibbs’ finest effort to date; cultivating the pinnacle of his life’s experiences thus far and churning them out with that patented, rapid-fire flow.
Powered by XXL and mixed by Statik Selektah, Str8 Killa is strengthened by a supporting cast ranging from the L.E.P. Bogus Boys to Bun B to Jay Rock to Planet Asia along with production duties shouldered by the likes of Josh The Goon, DJ Burn One, K. Salaam & Beatnick and more.
But enough of the formalities. Let’s get into some gangsta shit.
And while we’re on the subject, pre-order the Str8 Killa EP and support your big homie. That’s 24 songs for $8 in your No Filla experience. Can’t knock the hustle.
This is another leak from Phreshy off of the collaborative mixtape with Surf Club (producers of Eminem’s “Drop The World”). The title of the song is “Worth It” and it will be on the mixtape titled “SMC X SC”.
In the words of the immortal double rainbow guy - “What does this MEAN!?”
It means a new video with a star studded cast in anticipation of Travis Barker’s latest project. In a recent HipHopDX interview Travis Barker spoke briefly on his untitled solo project: “It’s been amazing. Everyone from like RZA, and Raekwon to Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Swizz Beatz, Slaughterhouse. It’s crazy. It’s been really really fun. We just got Kurupt on a song, so I’ve been working my butt off. I can’t wait for everyone to hear it.”
Barker’s album is due out this September, more photos from the video shoot after the jump.
The official trailer for The Green Hornet has finally arrived, with an extremely slimmed-down Seth Rogen (who also co-wrote) in the lead. Chinese actor Jay Chou (Curse of the Golden Flower) stars as Kato, while Cameron Diaz, Edward Furlong, Christopher Waltz (Inglourious Basterds), Tom Wilkinson (Rush Hour, Batman Begins, RocknRolla), Chad Coleman (The Wire), Analeigh Tipton (America’s Next Top Model ‘08) and veteran actor Edward James Olmos round out the main cast.
The Green Hornet is directed by Michel Gondry (Be Kind Rewind, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind), and is slated to be in theaters early 2011.
At long last, the homie TiRon just dropped his latest project, MSTRD. The tape serves as the follow up to his ‘09 stand out release, Ketchup. Features on MSTRD include Ayomari, Blu, and Asher Roth. On the production side of things, $port, Oddisee, DOOM, Paul McCartney & Wings (seriously), DJ Dahi, and more handle the beats. I’ve been bumpin’ this one heavy as of late, and although it’s just 10 tracks, there are no throw-aways on here - give it a listen. Follow me after the jump for the download link and tracklisting.
