I flew out to LA this morning for BET Awards and meetings, I get off my plane at LAX and go into the bathroom, do my business and as I’m washing my hands…I notice a big dude standing next to me. I see a microphone tat on a muscular arm then I look at the sink and notice Baby Powder, Shaving Cream, Cologne, Hair Brush and about 10 bottles I don’t even know what they were. Guess who? Ladies Love Cool James, yep, Mr. L.L. himself. I definitely had myself a good laugh that he took it upon himself to make himself at home in the LAX bathroom. I guess TMZ could have been outside, so he had to get his sexy on.

Very sad to say George Carlin passed yesterday, he may have been my favorite comedian. I saw him in Vegas probably 5 or so years ago and was on the floor laughing. It’s really sad to say but I guess after that many drugs, cigarettes and booze, 71 is a long life. One of my favorite quotes by George and seems quite fitting: “Death is caused by swallowing small amounts of saliva over a long period of time.”
If you happen to be in Boston on June 26th then I highly recommend heading to the Paradise for the FREE (just RSVP) Hold Steady & Aberdeen City show. If that doesn’t work then you can see them for free right here in Brooklyn a few days later when they play the first Pool Party of 2008.
