So I got 1 of 4 right this weekend… I mean who would of thought The Cardinals would beat the Falcons. Warner played an almost perfect game. Did anyone else see that coming? Payton Manning, this years MVP? Losing in San Diego..? The wild card race is turning upside down. As a Giant fan I’m not happy the Eagles won. We have a tough time against Philly. Let’s talk Ravens. They looked amazing Sunday. Something tells me we’ll be seeing them deep into the playoffs, maybe even the Superbowl. Chargers running back Ladainian Tomlinson played for 2 quarters on Saturday against the Colts. Tomlinson has a strained groin. Reports surfaced Saturday that he has a detached tendon. Asked about his short-term health, Tomlinson said: “I’m worried about my health. I’m very concerned.” The team is still saying it’s a strained groin. “It’s a strained groin. That’s what our medical report is,” Chargers coach Norv Turner said. LT’s answers raise questions to me about the truth of what we’re being told? “It’s a medical issue,” he said. “That’s all I’ll say about it. I’m not a doctor, and I’m not going to stand up here and act like one.” Asked if he was advised to have surgery, he said: “I can’t answer that.” LT, whatever it is I hope your taking the proper care of yourself. Boston College coach, Jeff Jagodzinski, has been told he will be fired if he interviews for the head coaching job with the New York Jets, which is scheduled for Monday, according to sources. Despite the threat from athletic director Gene DeFilippo, Jagodzinski plans to go ahead with the interview with the Jets. That’s not a very Catholic thing for the athletic director to do!

The Boston Red Sox and Pitcher Brad Penny have reached a preliminary agreement for a one-year, $5 million contract. Derek Lowe has rejected the Mets offer of $36 million for 3 years. He’s hoping to get about $16 million a year. The Mets are expected to up their offer for him. They’re also considering Oliver Perez and Randy Wolf if Lowe doesn’t accept. The Brewers, Phillies, Red Sox and Angels are also interested in acquiring Lowe. The Dodgers and Andruw Jones have agreed to a trade or a release before spring training. He’s agreed to defer much of the $22 million remaining on his contract. The Dodgers will inquire about interest in Jones around the league, hoping a team might take him at his discounted salary of about $5 million. Andruw has given up $17 million dollars to leave the Dodgers, and as of right now, there is still no one interested in him. Once one of the highest paid men in baseball now unwanted. How fast the glory goes.

DUI’s handed out this week in the Basketball world: Suns guard, Jason Richardson, arrested outside of Phoenix, former NBA player Antoine Walker in Miami and, yes, my favorite, Sir Charles. His reasoning is also my favorite. He was rushing to pick up a girl, who gave him the best ‘blow job’ of his life. He had donuts and wine coolers in the car for them. The man is NUTS… I have to ask Charles, wine coolers, really??? Lakers forward, Luke Walton, will be out for 2 weeks with sesamoiditis in his right foot. This coming after losing Jordan Farmer for 2 months. The NBA did not take any action against Vince Carter or official Derrick Stafford, who used the word ‘”boy” during an argument with Carter at Wednesday night’s game in Detroit. “We have spoken to both Vince and Derrick about their exchange during Wednesday’s game, and decided not to take any action with respect to the language that was used or any inadvertent contact that may have occurred,” the League said Friday in a statement provided in an e-mail by spokesman Tim Frank. That’s a touchy situation… They were right to just move on!

Go Giants!

Hot girls talking sports, rocks! Plus she really knows what she’s talking about. Giants are going to have a tough go at it with Philly, but the Boys In Blue will prevail. GO GIANTS!

  3. AdGeek007 says:

Hot girls and sports…can life be any better?! The G-Men will be ready this time. That D-line is going to stomp all over McNabb and there’s no way Pierce and the rest of the Giants secondary is going to allow Westbrook to make chumps of them again. Close game. Big quarterback battle. But the Giants will come out on top in the end.

  4. Ed says:

Great photo! I am a life long Giants fan from Jersey. I agree the Eagles are going to be a tough opponent for the G Men, but with Jacobs healthy and rested we will win. This is a completly different team with with Brandon in the backfield. GO Giants

  5. JDBall says:

I don’t know which is luckier, the Giants jersey or the football. About time a chick knew what she was talking about when it came to sports. If only my girlfriend was as smart.

  6. Mr. Williams says:

Nice pic! Although I need my Chargers to get it together I think you’re right that the Ravens might be making another appearance this year. And you should be worried about the Eagles because they are the X factor in the NFC. Well done =)

  7. Marty says:

It’s always nice when a REAL woman knows what she’s talking about when it comes to sports. You’re right on with everything you’re saying, Meredith! Love your column! And by the way, what do I have to do to get you to wear MY jersey?! ;-)

  8. Jack Bauer says:

First off, clever wording on the title. So I agree with you, the Ravens are looking good and the Eagles do give the Giants a tough challenge. Will they be able to hold on to be Superbowl bound again? We shall see. More power to Jeff Jagodzinski, explore your options! The Athletic Director is a Jamroll anyway! And lastly, the Colts looked terrible in their loss, will Tony return for more letdowns or will he hang it up and let someone else take the blame for a fading team.
