“Delivering a brand of anthemic pop-rock with jagged edges, ivoryline certainly has a winning formula. Also apparent, Ivoryline clearly have their gaze firmly set on the top.”
- Alex Davies of Decoy Music
Please check out this video of the Strokes. It’s an unedited film by Colin Lane, their unofficial official photographer and shot in the style of Andy Warhol’s Factory screen tests. FYI there is no sound. Check it out and let me know what you think if you have a sec.
The video is a lead up to the upcoming 50th issue of the FADER and more extras (such as this video) will be available on the site in the coming weeks. The 50th issue of the FADER will be available for download for free at iTunes very soon, along with an accompanying audio mix.

WHAT: “TAKE BACK NEW YORK” – Queen V is campaigning to resuscitate the spirit of New York City through monthly live music events by rallying people to recognize, remember and celebrate the lost NYC underground and to give something back to those in our city who are in need. Proceeds from last night’s (Tuesday, November 13th) event were donated to Axis of Justice (http://www.axisofjustice.org<http://www.axisofjustice.org> ) – the non-profit organization formed by Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine and Serj Tankian of System of a Down – and Picture the Homeless (http://www.picturethehomeless.org<http://www.picturethehomeless.org> ) to benefit the homeless in NYC. There will be a suggested $5 minimum donation at the door.
Queen V’s usual circle of staple NYC notables, musicians and people who love music included guest jammers like HATEBREED drummer, Matt Byrne; Patti Smith Group’sLenny Kaye, and others who jumped on stage with her to “TAKE BACK NEW YORK.”
WHO: Queen V is a female rocker whose December 2007 EP from the forthcoming album Death or Glory (Royal Noise Recordings), features guest appearances by heavy hitter musicians, as well as the engineering skills of Ron St. Germain (Bad Brains, Tool). The EP will be available for purchase on Tuesday, December 11th, which is also the date of the next “TAKE BACK NEW YORK” event.
Alice N Chains is rumored to be releasing a new record in 2008… I saw them a couple times on their recent tours, once at Bowery Ballroom and once at Jones Beach (with Velvet Revolver). Their new singer sounds SO much like Layne, however that’s the point, not sure what new material would sound like, I’d be shocked if it was good.
no, really, thats what I labeled this picture when I saved it in my documents…
This Whitestar member (when was the last time they put out a song, played a show, anything?) looks like he needs a shower, or a car wash…or a good scrub with a brillo pad.
Pete Wentz (Fall Out Boy) will be hanging out at Sam Ash in Manhattan to sign autographs on Monday, November 12 from 5:00-6:00 PM. If you purchase his Squier Signature P-Bass you get to skip to the front of the line.

There was no greater end to a movie than Cruel Intentions’ triumphant dismantling of the evil Kathryn Mertueil accompanied by the haunting chords of The Verve’s epic “Bitter Sweet Symphony”.
The song has since become a classic, still chilling to the core even now.
Sadly the band was plagued by turmoil perpetuated by an illegal Rolling Stones sample used in “Bittersweet Symphony”…The Rolling Stones sued and were awarded 100% of all royalties made on the song, including money garnered from the Cruel Intentions license and alter a lucritive Nike deal. This was the beginning of the end for a band with the potential to be #1.
10 years later, all tensions aside, The Verve made a “trimphant return” Friday night with their very first reunion concert at Glasgow Academy. It’s the beginning of a U.K tour that will lead into the recording of a 5th studio album.
The talent this band displays is undeniable…we just hope they can hold it together this time.
