Early Soundscan Forecast

November 20th, 2007 · No Comments

Now we all know by now how much I love Wednesdays, so usually I avoid reading all the official and unoffical soundscan forecasts that start circulating Monday of every week.

However this week, being one of the most crucial in the industry, essentially the last chance for labels to deliver albums for the year and have them hit big for the holidays, but before radio turns to Xmas programing, I decided to take a peek…

And its GOOD! It’s all GOOD! If even for a minute we’re back baby! All top 10 albums estimated to sell over 100k with A-Keys leading the pack with what is looking to be 750k first week sales.

Also in the Top 10 will be Zeppelin’s re-release of Mothership and the Eagles selling ANOTHER 200k.

Jimmy Page, who has been mending a broken finger that postponed their November reunion show, has announced that the show will go on as (re)scheduled December 10th.

The finger’s better and he has full confiedence that he will now be able to give the fans the show they want.

Just a side note: Zeppelin have sold a total of over 300 million albums world wide, and the re-release of Mothership last week is forcasted to come in on Soundscan top 200 with about 200k albums sold.

They still got it.

iTunes gets Zeppelin…

July 30th, 2007 · No Comments

According to The Observer Led Zeppelin, who have sold more than 200 million albums worldwide are entering the world of Steve Jobs offering their tracks on iTunes. It won’t be every Zeppelin song however it will be a collection including standards like “Stairway”, “Whole Lotta Love” and “Dazed and Confused”. This is a major victory for Apple as Zepplin was one of few major bands that had still held out on selling their songs on iTunes.

Led Zeppelin to reunite?

July 2nd, 2007 · 1 Comment

“Led Zeppelin are in talks to reunite for a memorial concert. The band are apparently in discussions to reform for a one-off gig in London for their late record boss Atlantic Records founder Ahmet Ertegun. It is thought singer Robert Plant guitarist Jimmy Page and bassist John Paul Jones will re-group alongside late drummer John Bonham’s son Jason for the gig. A source close to the band said: “Page, Plant and Jones spoke and agreed to do the memorial concert. They are waiting for a definite date.”
