Hi there,
How are you? We do press for Far Out – Joe Davis’ London based Brazilian label and we want to send our latest release to you for potential review without it getting overlooked. I’ll get one out to you today if you’re interested. If you are able to take a listen it’s certainly worth it, an extremely strong debut album.
Positive reviews have already come in from publications including Clash Magazine and airplay from Radio 1, Ministry of Sound and KCRW. December has confirmed reviews from MOJO, VICE and AU Magazine among many others. It is now released Monday 8th December. Coverage would be much appreciated. 2009 is a very exciting year for Far Out with our 15th anniversary being marked by special events and Gilles Peterson and Andy Votel mix compilations as well as great new studio albums – I’ll get all the releases to you in due course. It would be great to hear from you, any feedback would be much appreciated. Read on for Binario details, links, quotes etc.
“Binario show that Brazil isn’t all about bossa nova; there is some
seriously heavy funk going on here.”
Clash Magazine, November 2008, 7/10
“Kind of reminds me of Os Mutantes!”
DJ Disastronaut (Audiosushi London)
“Binario sounds good to me”
Mathieu Schreyer (KCRW USA)
“‘Binario’s’ subtleties are immeasurable, its rewards infinite. Get your hands on a copy of this record – it has my unwavering seal of approval. ‘Binario’ has year-end-list greatness.”
Floodwatchmusic.com
Far Out Recordings boldly move from their popular Brazilian catalogue to the guerrilla sound of Binario’s self titled debut album. The band from Ipanema Beach brings the sound of Rio’s underground to ‘Binario’ with rhythmically rich and sonically expansive tracks full of intrigue and originality. A seven strong gang, Binario have captured their unique mix of psychedelia, guitar fuzz, electronica and tripped out space funk. Recreating the passion of their wild live shows, where the gear is wired to car batteries to blast their illicit grooves to Rio’s beaches, Binario’s layered sound mixes brooding instrumentals with futuristic freak outs and Portuguese scat vocals to produce one of 2008’s most exciting debuts.
Released Monday 8th December.
Please check out the links to Myspace for album tracks and Youtube for live performances from the studio, Ipanema Beach and interviews. http://www.myspace.com/binario http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRiEpJDBPkA

Hello!
I’m contacting you on behalf of 1OFAKIND Entertainment.
I would like to introduce you to the HOT new production team named WE ARE THE HEROES consisting of Hollywood and Antmaestro.
Please take a moment to read their new bio below and check them out at http://www.myspace.com/wearetheheroesmusic.
Please also check out their latest online feature here: http://firmmagazine.net/2010/01/we-are-the-heroes-by-mel-crooks
This is the beginning of a new movement where they are striving to “PRESERVE The Music” and take the industry by storm!
We would be thrilled if you would feature WE ARE THE HEROES on your site.
Please let me know if this is possible.
Thank you!
WE ARE THE HEROES
We Are The Heroes is the new production duo from New Jersey consisting of Vann ‘Hollywood’ Holland III and Anthony ‘Antmaestro’ Edwards. Their vision: to preserve the music. Their mission: to take the industry by storm. We Are the Heroes operates with their systematic knowledge of music, engineering skills, ingenious prowess and technology to create a pioneering sound. Hollywood ’s adventurous magnetism and Antmaestro’s artistic intellect fuse to create productions based on originality, eclectic resonance, and rhythmic contemporary beats. Praising the old school while reinventing the new; an oath materialized with the duo’s greater ideal of safeguarding music.
Hollywood is a self-taught music producer who inherited his love for music genetically. His family has a generational legacy of gospel and country music. At the age of 14, his decisive attitude and natural music talent led him to create the hip-hop group called Platinum Stars, which incited his interest in pursuing music as a career and stimulated his passion. The young producer has been mentored by Falonte Moore (Destiny’s Child, Next, Montell Jordan) and Troy Taylor (Trey Songz); inspired by other producers ranging from his father, Hollywood Sr., to Rodney Jerkins; and influenced by legends including Michael Jackson, Quincy Jones, and Prince.
Antmaestro is a first generation multi-talented musician. He plays several instruments including the piano and the trumpet. His interest in music came to him at a very young age. Antmaestro’s resume is filled with accomplishments from participating in Jazz contests at the tender age of 12, leading his high school band, to assisting in the engineering of R&B singer’s, Joe, latest album, Signature. Majoring in music at the Wesleyan University provided Antmaestro with theory and technicalities behind the subject. His education, street influences, and whim for the auditory arts set a limitless canvas for originality that reflects in his music production. Antmaestro’s mentor is Joshua Thompson (Joe, Tyrese, O-Town). His craft is influenced by prodigies including, Babyface, Stevie Wonder and Max Martin; and his inspiration emerges from the Motown sound.
Hollywood brings raw creativity and spunk based on his generational inheritance and passion for music, while Antmaestro brings a candid refined touch based on his classical knowledge of the arts. Together these masterminds create a ‘Heroic’ sound. We Are The Heroes is an army of 2 arty, avid and determined young men with an aptitude for producing great quality music. Hollywood and Antmaestro are driven by their differing inventive mindset. We Are The Heroes thrives from the duo’s opposite personalities and diversified skills; and is founded on their strong work ethic and professionalism. Antmaestro and Hollywood ’s complementing individuality is the key element to the collective creation of brilliant production under the We Are The Heroes brand.
