Plaxico Burress was charged with criminal possession of a weapon. He turned himself in on Monday morning entering a plea of not guilty. Today is the day I remove the title of ‘World’s Biggest Idiot’ from A-Rod and crown Plaxico Burress with it.  Here’s the thing, not only are you bringing a gun into a night club, but you don’t put the safety on when you put a gun into your pants?  He shot himself trying to get the gun back into place when it slipped down his leg. Even better, Giant’s linebacker Antonio Pierce, who was at the club with him, tried to help Plaxico out by hiding the gun.  It’s still unclear if any legal charges will be filed against Pierce…  It’s so stupid!  I’m mad at myself for actually talking about it.  To borrow from a Keith Olberman segment, “Plaxico, you ARE the’ worst’ person in the world”.

We’re heading into week 14 of the 2008 football season and the division leaders right now are as follows: NFC East- Giants 11-1, NFC North- Chicago & Minnesota tied 6-5, NFC South- Tampa Bay & Carolina tied at 9-3, NFC West- Arizona 7-5.  It’s looking dim for the Cowboys this year with NFC South and West having 2 teams tied for 1st place and they’re tied with Atlanta.  AFC East- Jets 8-4, AFC North- Pittsburg 9-3, AFC South- Tennessee 11- , AFC West -Denver 7-5. Its looks like Baltimore and Indiana are the fair guess at the wild cards. I’m still saying Giants/Tennessee superbowl… But I’d love Giants/Jets.  On a sad note, the late Sean Taylor was inducted into the Redskins Ring of Fame before Sunday’s game.  I find it ironic that he was honored the day they played the Giants, reminding everyone (including Plaxico Burress, I hope) that guns are dangerous and ruin lives.

I think it’s disrespectful to the Cavaliers.”  All Lebron had to say back to that was “He’s stupid”.  I’m starting to really like Lebron.  The Knicks told Stephon Marbury to stay away until they can figure out what to do with him. Because Marbury wasn’t happy with the buy out offer made to him. Here’s a thought Miami wants to get rid of Shawn Marion, who’s already played for Mike D’Antoni with the Suns.. Maybe that’s a good option for the Knicks to look at.. [Hint hint, clue clue].  Devin Harris has found his home and his game in New Jersey. He scored a career-high 47 points, 21 pts in the fourth quarter ending the Nets 14 game losing streak. They beat the Suns 117 - 109.  Dwight Howard is leaning toward not participating in this year’s All Star Weekend ‘Slam Dunk’ contest. There’s an old saying, ‘Quit while you’re ahead,’   Howard said. “I thought I did a great job at the dunk contest last year.  I think everybody liked it.  I don’t want to mess that up”.  Your right Dwight, it was impressive watching you fly through the air with your superman cape on, but I agree,  give someone else a chance.  It’s all in good fun.

The arbitration deadline hit Monday night at 12am EST.  The Yankees in a bold move offered arbitration to no one.  Every one else pretty much did what was expected to keep their players or gain the most from losing them. Pending physicals, Junichi Tazawa, the 22-year-old righty from Japan, will join the Boston Red Sox and Mike Hampton will be joining the Houston Astros. With the Astros signing Hampton it’s slowed talks with Randy Wolf that were full speed ahead. Baseball is in limbo right now and we’re just waiting for something to happen, besides A-Rod vacationing in Mexico with Madonna…

Lance Armstrong has announced he will be competing in the 2009 Tour de France and the 2009 Giro d’Italia making it the 1st time he will compete in both race in the same year. Lance you are truly a wonder, Good Luck !
