This is probably a bad idea…

Fight Club is one of the best movie’s of its’ generation, hands down.  However this does not mean it should be adapted into a Broadway musical.

David Fincher told MTV that he wants to turn the cult classic into a Broadway bonanza to debut in 09. Supposedly Chuck Palahnuick (original author) is on board, and NIN’s Trent Reznor is going to do the score.

Don’t mess with a good thing guys.  There are no other Brad Pitts and Ed Nortons…hence there will be no other Tyler Durden in most people’s minds.

I disagree! I think this will be awesome. Taking a groundbreaking movie with such a deep anti-consumerism message and turning it into a fucking broadway musical just to make money is hilarious. For Marla they can use one of those avenue q muppets, and Meatloaf can play himself. This will be like watching a Eugene O’Neill play on acid, with downward spiral playing in the background. I hope they take Amex.
