Unless you’re a hermit living in an Apalacian mountain community you know that Britney Spears’ new album dropped yesterday (along with the 101 other contreversies surrounding her). Click here to hear the latest…her interview this AM with Ryan Seacrest.
My personal favorite part of the whole thing is when she announces that this DISASTER of a radio interview is all the promotion she’s doing for her new album.
Nothing like a little friendly competition to kick off the holiday shopping season.
Ding-round one: Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock vs. All new MTV-ified RockBand. The face off begins as both games are released early November.
Guitar Hero steps it up a notch with the new ability to battle your very own “Guitar Heros” such as Slash and Tom Morello, whereas RockBand prays on every kids dream of joining an actual Rock Band….
Currently defunct legendary NYC music venue CBGB’s is set for a somewhat disheartening ressurection. High fashion designer John Varvatos is said to be invading the once scrappy punk club and turning it into his new NYC boutique.
Varvatos may use the likeness of such rock royalty as Iggy Pop and Slash in his advertising campaigns, but does this license him the cred needed to take on the space minus adversity?
It’s set to be an interesting battle that will surely end in Varvatos’s favor….because as we learned with the poetic closing of CB’s; money beats preservation.
I was inspired, so below please enjoy Bonnie’s UnSexiest Women in Music List, if you agree/disagree/want to add your own feel free to throw us a comment.
5) Britney Spears: Once upon a time Britney was my girl crush and most men’s wet dream. Now she just kinda makes me want to take a shower.
4) Avril Lavigne-gross. No further explanation necessary.
3) Beth Ditto: Yeah, I know, everyone LOVES her. The Gossip are the greatest thing to hit the Indie circuit, Ditto promotes good body image, yada yada. All great EXCEPT that 200 something pound Ditto takes all her clothing off on stage. Letting it all hang out like that puts her on my list.

I’m not hating, the 90’s were a great time period for Silverchair; Frogstomp was in regular rotation in my CD player, and I even dabbled in Neon Ballroom…But that was about it.
Past that they kind of fell off my radar, until recently. First it was Daniel Johns popping up here and there, but really it was only in reports about him and girlfriend Natalie Imbruglia.
Low and behold I fire up my internet to find today that Silverchair apparently, while I was busy doing god knows what, have a HUGELY acclaimed album that has just furnished them FIVE AIRA Awards (essentially, the Austrailian Grammys): single of the year, album of the year, highest-selling single of the year, best band and best rock album.
