Black Rebel Motorcycle Club plays a real throw back rock and roll show.
They tore through a 2 hour plus set, pulling out pieces of their entire discography and engaging the crowd with all the favorites and some live rarities.
If anyone knows how to do it live, it’s these guys. Glaring back lights and fog machines encase the three piece musical mystery. The show FEELS the way their music sounds-dark, eerie..genius. I love these guys because it’s not an act-their talent is as real as the feelings that create their music.
Below is “Steal A Ride” which has never before been played live by BRMC.
Although I normally am very anti-encore (as most bands put into their set list which is not the rock and roll way or a true encore) last night was different…despite thinking they had planned on playing an encore, they did take requests from the crowd and played songs they never had before live (see above). In stealing a line from The Arcade Fire, Robert not only went into the crowd and played but then gave away his bass/guitar to the crowd…

easily one of the better live shows I have seen in a while. What a cool band

Wow. I was right in front of Robert. I had both hands on that bass for a moment. I’m clearly in your videos. Speaking of clearly, it breaks my heart just how CLEARLY you could (or your camera could) hear the vocals! Down on the floor you could barely make out their voices! It was just a huge wall of sound. Is there anything I can do to persuade you to send those videos to me, or even better, the audio from the show? You did a great job of capturing it. I’m jealous I didn’t get to HEAR the show the way you guys did on the balcony.
Oh, and you’re totally right. BRMC puts on a REAL rock ‘n’ roll show.

Hey it’s me again from the post above. Can you tell me what the other encores were? I could read the set list, but as you pointed out, the encores weren’t on the set list. And, like I said, it was just a wall of sound so I don’t know what I heard.
